Richard Hollander has been a recognized leader in the effects industry for over 25 years. His film career began in 1979 with The China Syndrome, Star Trek, The Motion Picture and Blade Runner and includes Titanic, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, Superman Returns and The Golden Compass. He co-founded VIFX, later merged with Rhythm and Hues where he was President of the Film Division for eight years before joining PIXAR Animation Studios as a Producer. He has been awarded a Scientific and Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a CLIO for his pioneering work in CG animation. He is an active member of the Academy of Motion Pictures of Arts and Sciences and was a founding member of the Visual Effects Society.
