GLO MINAYA, VFX SUPERVISOR


With over 20 years of experience in animation production, Glo Minaya brings vast artistic and technical skill to her current VFX Supervisor role at Reel FX Creative Studio in Dallas, Texas. Glo studied engineering at University of California, Berkeley and graduated magna cum laude from Cal State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.


 


She began her career as a compositor and technical director working on award-winning commercials for Coca-Cola, episodic television series “The Simpsons” and “Ren and Stimpy,” and the feature film “PowerPuff Girls.” 


 


She then went on to work for Walt Disney Studios. While in her 11-year stint with them she was the sole technical lead on the films, “TinkerBell and the Lost Treasure,” Annie award-winning “Bambi 2” and Annie award-winning “Lion King 1.5.” 


 


Glo was nominated for a Visual Effects Society (VES) award for "Humbugged, Rockettes to the Rescue,” a Radio City Christmas Spectacular where, for the first time, stereoscopic footage was integrated with live performers.


 


Her work as the Back-End CG Supervisor for the Jorge Gutierrez-directed, Guillermo del Toro-produced, Golden Globe nominated animated feature, "The Book of Life,” netted her a second VES nomination.


 


An accomplished artist, musician, and photographer, Glo has played at the LA House of Blues and her visual art has been shown in art shows and galleries across Southern California.


 


She is a member of the Visual Effects Society and ASIFA as well as ACM SIGGRAPH where she has served as a juror and presenter.


 


Glo's is currently working as the Digital Supervisor on the Netflix/Warner Bros. production of “Green Eggs and Ham”.
