Eric Robinson

With an award-winning visual effects career, Eric Robinson has established himself as a valuable resource to any team. His leadership skills, remarkable technical abilities, and strong work ethic make him an exceptional VFX Supervisor. Eric has supervised on numerous projects such as Guillermo Del Toro's The Strain and Paul Anderson's Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. In 2018 he is supervising the VFX on Creed II.

Early in his career, Eric pursued his passion for visual effects in his work as a freelance animator and teacher of Digital Video-3D animation. During these years, Eric established his expertise in compositing, storyboarding, scripting, modeling, and rendering. These experiences gave him a thorough understanding of all aspects of film production.

In 2005, Eric moved to the IMAX as a Compositor and Department Head of Segmentation. There, he worked both on native 3D documentary films, as well as, 3D Stereo conversions, including the world's first feature conversion for Superman Returns. Just a sampling of the titles he has worked on include: Batman Begins, 300, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, V for Vendetta, Deep Sea 3D, Happy Feet, Spider-Man 3, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Beowulf, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Upon his arrival at MR. X in 2009, Eric quickly utilized his IMAX experience by guiding the studio's first foray into 3D filmmaking with Resident Evil: Afterlife. During this process, Eric was indispensable in shaping the stereoscopic pipeline for the studio. Consequently, ever since Eric has operated as Stereoscopic Supervisor for all of MR. X's 3D features. After working as the Visual Effects Production Manager on Hanna, Eric flourished to the Digital Effects Supervisor on The Three Musketeers, Resident Evil: Retribution and Carrie. In 2012, Eric's work earned him a Canadian Screen Award for Achievement in Visual Effects for Resident Evil: Retribution.

Eric's Supervision of Digital Effects in 2013 on Paul W.S. Anderson's epic Pompeii-in which he handled some of the film's most challenging sequences, including crowd scenes, digital duplicates of characters, digital creatures, and environmental effects-garnered Eric another Canadian Screen Award for Achievement in Visual Effects.

Since then, Eric's VFX Supervisor credits have included, The Best Man Holiday, Endless Love and Ride Along 2, Girls Trip, Secret in Their Eyes, the second season of Falling Water, and Gringo for Amazon. Eric recently finished serving as VFX Supervisor for Mr X. on HBO Max's Raised By Wolves.
