  • BC Mental Health Support Line: Call 310-6789 (do not add 604, 778 or 250 before the number). It’s free and available 24 hours a day for emotional support, information and resources specific to mental health. Free and available 24 hours a day.
  • Suicide Hotline: Call 1-800-784-2433 if you are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including thoughts of suicide or worried about someone else. Free and available 24 hours a day.
  • The Alcohol & Drug Information and Referral Service: Call 1-800-663-1441 if you are in distress or worried about someone else. Free and available 24 hours a day.

KUU-US Crisis Response Service
Provides support to callers with in the Port Alberni area as well as Indigenous people throughout the province of British Columbia. Once the issue for support has been identified, the level of severity for call handling is determined. The goal is to establish a non-judgmental approach to listening and problem solving. A support system is put into place where the caller is brought back to a pre-crisis state.
