Roland Emmerich is an international director, producer and screenwriter whose films, including INDEPENDENCE DAY, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, 2012, ANONYMOUS, and WHITE HOUSE DOWN have taken in more than $3 billion worldwide. He recently announced plans to write and direct a sequel to his blockbuster film, INDEPENDENCE DAY, which takes place 20 years after the original. He will also direct STONEWALL, a drama about the 1969 Stonewall Riots chronicling the three-day standoff between the police and protesters at the Stonewall Inn in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, widely considered the starting point for the modern gay civil rights movement. In 1996, Emmerich directed INDEPENDENCE DAY which grossed over $800 million worldwide. In quick succession, he released another Hollywood blockbuster, GODZILLA, which he directed and produced. His other film credits include UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, STARGATE, THE PATRIOT, TRADE, JOEY, MOON 44, EYE OF THE STORM, THE HIGH CRUSADE, THE THIRTEENTH FLOOR, EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS, HELL and the documentary LAST WILL & TESTAMENT. Emmerich began his career in his native Germany, where his first film, a student project called THE NOAH’S ARK PRINCIPLE, played in competition at the 1984 Berlin Film Festival. His television credits are THE VISITOR, GODZILLA: THE SERIES and DARK HORSE.

Volker Engel is an Oscar and Emmy Award winning Visual Effects Supervisor who’s produced or co-produced several projects with his long-time business partner Marc Weigert which were directed by Roland Emmerich. His work with Mr. Emmerich goes back to 1988 as Visual Effects Supervisor on MOON 44. Mr Engel won an Oscar in 1997 for INDEPENDENCE DAY He and Mr. Weigert co-founded the production company Uncharted Territory, LLC in 1999 to develop and produce their own projects. They both won an Emmy for Best Visual Effects in a Mini Series for THE TRIANGLE.

Marc Weigert was Co-producer and VFX Supervisor on Roland Emmerich’s WHITE HOUSE DOWN, and is the CEO of Uncharted Territory who’ve produced many features and TV projects as well as providing VFX for THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW and TERMINATOR 3. He was previously CEO of Dreamscape Imagery Inc. whose credits include INDEPENDENCE DAY and many more. He created the Digital Assistant for Visual Effects, project management software to manage, schedule and track the shooting and post production of thousands of VFX elements. He has lectured at seminars and master classes for many organizations.
