The VES Vision Committee Presents An Afternoon w/Dennis Muren: The Artist’s Eye – Learning To See

Mr. Muren will share his view of what makes a great image and how you can develop your own artistic eye. In this presentation on The Artist’s Eye – Learning to See, he will cover a range of topics including:

  • Composition, lighting, subject matter and intent for image makers.
  • How to create an image with impact both visually and emotionally.
  • What are the elements of an image that distinguish it?
  • How to elevate the mundane.

His insights will be of value to photographers, cinematographers, artists and anyone involved in the visual arts.

Dennis Muren, VES, ASC has been on the frontlines at the evolution of the craft of visual effects from STAR WARS to SUPER 8, working as ILM Creative Director and garnering eight Oscars and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame along the way. At the heart of it all are images – the most powerful way to illicit emotions, wonder and beauty.
