BIO – Pam Hogarth

Pam Hogarth helps people and organizations make their dreams come true. During her over 30 years in visual effects and high-end computer graphics she has fulfilled many roles, from marketing to industry relations, but the majority of her experience and energy have been devoted to education and career services. Before co-founding Eido, Pam was very successful as a career coach, working with individuals in entertainment.

Previously she served as Director of Marketing for LOOK Effects where she significantly increased the company’s footprint in the visual effects and production industries. She also directed the company’s educational outreach. Before being lured to LOOK, Pam spent 12 years as Director of Advancement/Industry Liaison at Gnomon School of Visual Effects where she was instrumental in building Gnomon into the premiere educational institution for careers in high-end computer graphics for entertainment. During this time she advised, taught and placed hundreds of aspiring digital artists. She also connected Gnomon to visual effects, animation and game production facilities and professionals from around the globe, built the school’s Advisory Board and provided industry in-put for curriculum development. The four years prior to Gnomon, Pam was director of Digital Media Institute in Hollywood. Before that she produced weekly Computer Media Salons for the Advanced Technology Program at the American Film Institute.

For the past 17 years, Pam has found the time and energy to devote to the growth of the Visual Effects Society. She is serving her seventh term on the Board of Directors, was twice elected as the first female Vice Chair, has served on three Strategic Planning Committees, is Chair of the Benefits Committee and has been one of the abiding Chairs of the Education Committee. She is also serving on the Board of Managers of the newly-formed LA Section of the VES. Pam has also spoken at computer graphics and academic conferences here and abroad. Current and previous teaching includes the Art Directors Guild, Otis College of Art and Design,, Gnomon, Digital Media Institute and AFI. She serves on the advisory boards of CG Society; VIEW Conference in Turin, Italy; and the Entertainment Academy at Santa Monica College. 

Pam holds a MEd in Vocational Counseling from Kent State University and a BS from Springfield College in Fine Art and Psychology. Whenever she gets a chance, she makes glass beads and jewelry or knits up a storm.
