Charlie Iturriaga, Senior VFX Supervisor
Charlie Iturriaga is an award winning Visual Effects Supervisor. His career in the film industry has spanned over
two decades. He was born and raised in Mexico City.
Charlie's expertise span from the beginning stages of development to the final delivery of projects that range from
commercials and independent film endeavors across to large and complex tent pole productions for the studios.
Additionally, he has collaborated and worked in partnership with other U.S. facilities, including Industrial Light and
Magic, Digital Domain and The Creative-Cartel.
Thus far his 20 year journey has proved to be extremely rewarding, having the good fortune to work on many
successful projects along side very prestigious Directors and Producers. His almost 8-year relationship with
Director David Fincher has given him, and his team, the opportunity to work on many extraordinary projects
beginning with "Zodiac", and onto the multi Academy Award winning film, including Visual Effects, on "The
Curious Case of Benjamin Button", as well as, "The Social Network", "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", and most
currently "Gone Girl".
He has also worked with Fincher on three seasons of "House of Cards". Additionally, Charlie has joined forces
with Director, Joe Kosinski, on his current installment for Disney's Tron; "Tron Legacy", which was a stereoscopic
project. Also in stereo, he collaborated with ILM on "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". Jointly with
ILM, Charlie additionally worked on the George Lucas project, "Red Tails", and M. Night Shyamaian's "The Last
Airbender". Other notable credits include; "Her", directed by Spike Jonze, Adam Shankman's, "Rock of Ages", as
well as, an array of projects including; "The Last Airbender, "Ted", "2 Guns", "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and
Frank Miller's, "The Spirit", to name a few.
Charlie's great knowledge and skill in both the technical and creative aspects in the film making process is well
recognized in the Visual Effects community. He has won Latin America's equivalent to the Academy's Oscar
twice, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Visual Effects Society.
Charlie is one of those rare individuals who is not only passionate about his work and fully versed in it's field, but
also is someone who can clearly and patiently demystify tremendously complex technologies with professional
ease and reliability.
