10th Annual VES Awards Nomination Judging Panel Application
MEET, GREET, AND VOTE! A call for Judges
Now that the entries for the 10th Annual VES Awards are in, we once again invite VES members to participate in our Nomination Panels. This year, nominations will be judged in six cities around the globe: Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, London, Vancouver, Sydney and Wellington. Any active VES member who can travel to one of those cities may participate.
This is your chance to affect who will ultimately walk up to the podium on February 7th, 2012, to collect a coveted VES Award. A single vote may make the difference between being nominated… or not... and that vote could be yours.
Past participants know that this is the must-attend event of the awards season. Not only will you see behind the scenes of the most amazing visual imagery of 2011, you’ll be participating in the single best networking opportunity of the year. It’s a chance to see old friends, meet the best and brightest in the visual effects field, and learn new techniques that you can apply to your own work. All of that, plus the satisfaction of knowing that our best work will be presented to our colleagues in the industry, the press, and visual effects fans across the globe at the 10th Annual VES Awards.
Nomination voting will be held the week of January 2nd to January 7th. Nominations are announced on the 9th. Specific dates vary by location: Los Angeles section voting will be held on Saturday January 7th.
Judges who register to participate will receive specific information about dates, times, and locations from their local section representatives once their applications are received. We will assign panelists based on their field of expertise and their preferences, also taking into account any conflicts of interest they may have in a category.
For those of you who have been sometimes frustrated with not being assigned to your desired categories, this year should prove to be better as we have added two more cities to this year’s judging which hopefully will eliminate the need to put judges in other categories so as to avoid conflicts of interest.
If you are ready to make a difference, please submit your Panel Judge Application BELOW. Make sure you check the box indicating which of the six voting locations you plan to attend. Return it to the VES office by December 18, 2011.
