As President of Method Studios, Christian Kubsch was responsible for guiding the overall global activities for Method’s operations in Los Angeles, London, Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Atlanta. Recently completed feature projects include RoboCop, Divergent, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Thor: The Dark World. Upcoming feature work includes The Maze Runner, Welcome to Yesterday and Jupiter Ascending.
Prior to joining Method, Kubsch served as President of Prana Studios, a visual effects and animation studio with more than 800 employees in Los Angeles and Mumbai. Prana’s recent VFX credits include Hitchcock, John Carter, and Tron: Legacy. Prana provided exclusive digital animation services for Disney’s Secret Of The Wings and Planes.
Kubsch joined Prana from ImageMovers Digital (IMD), a joint venture between Academy Award® winning director Robert Zemeckis and The Walt Disney Studios. As IMD’s EVP and General Manager, Kubsch was in charge of Digital Production and Studio Operations for Disney’s A Christmas Carol, Mars Needs Moms.
Kubsch came to IMD from Lucasfilm. As the first managing director of Lucasfilm Animation in Singapore, Kubsch was responsible for start-up, initial build out and talent acquisition for the studio’s first slate of animated features, VFX, and interactive entertainment, including Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
He also served as VFX and Animation producer for several other Hollywood studios. Kubsch’s production credits include Over The Hedge, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Matrix: Revolutions & Reloaded, Mars Attacks!, Titanic, and The Mask.
Kubsch developed and produced several large format films with Douglas Trumbull while serving as VP/EP at IMAX Corporation.
He began his career with Universal Studios in Hollywood, where he coordinated and later production managed and produced several film-based attractions, including 2010, Star Trek, Back To the Future The Ride, T23D and Jurassic Park.
